Save the Boston Police Monuted Unit

Please Help Save the Boston Police Mounted Unit

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE AND WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP! THE CITY COUNCIL WILL VOTE ON THE BOSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET THE END OF JUNE!!!

The current budget has NO funding for the BPD Mounted Unit. If the City Council passes the budget as-is, the oldest mounted unit in the country will be abolished.

What can you do to help save the Boston Police Mounted Unit???

* Send a brief email to the Boston City Council President, Mike Ross, stating that the unit is important for Boston:

Michael.Ross@cityofboston.gov

* Sign the online petition:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/Save-Boston-Police-Mounted-Unit

* Contribute any amount you are able to the non-profit that has been established by Nady Peters. The non-profit's first campaign is to help save the BPD Mounted Unit. More information is at the website below, where you can donate online. Please contact Nady Peters directly with any questions about the non-profit:

http://www.mintformounts.org

* Pass this message along to as many people as you can and ask them to do the same.

We ask that you take a few minutes of your time to show your support. Our voices ARE making a difference.

Thanks to everyone who has already emailed the City Council, signed the online petition, and/or contributed to the sponsoring non-profit, Mint For Mounts. Your voices are being heard at Boston City Hall. Council President Ross has been delivering hard copies of the emails to Mayor Menino and holding up the pile of emails at Council meetings to show that the public wants to keep this very vital unit. We need to keep up the pressure before voting day!!
