Summer is short here, in June, the weather starts to get warm. The weather becomes nice and BBQs are everywhere by the end of July, and I can't believe that at the beginning of September, it is now 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. (10 degrees celcius)
Summer is gone and I am sad.

I've been living in Boston for some time now (Since 1998~), but I am still amused by the amount of baked beans available in the supermarket.I come from Singapore and I have lived all over the world, in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, England, etc. But when I had a craving for baked beans, I found in the canned food isle, many different brands and types of beans.
In asia, the only types of beans we get is Heinz. The baked beans in Ketchup, and when I was looking for beans for the first time in the supermarket, I could not find Heinz.
Instead, there are many other brands and things that looked like baked beans. They are kidney beans in "pink sauce" and others similar.
After spending lots of time searching for the right beans, I located B&M baked beans. They were the first can of beans I found that were actually labelled baked beans so I had to buy some to try. But then it came to the many different choices. Bacon & onion, pork, without pork, low sodium, etc. Choice became really hard for me as I just wanted the damn regular baked beans, which I could not find.
Finally I got the bacon and onion as you can see from the picture. They tasted not as good as expected, and i was rather disappointed but it did end my craving for baked beans, and I don't think I'll have more anytime soon.

Try the Bush brand, maple syrup variety. Though the B&M beans are pretty good too. Don't forget the brown bread in a can.
